Elaine E. Connelly

Elaine E. Connelly, 88 of Conestoga passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Penn State Health with her family by her side. Born on August 6, 1936 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Evans Rittenhouse. She was the wife of Donald L. Connelly who preceded her in death on December 7, 1985. Elaine worked for House of Precision in New Danville and retired from HDJ Machine Shop. She also enjoyed working for Rebman's on S. Queen Street. Elaine enjoyed the outdoors, whether picking up sticks, spending time in her gardens or relaxing outside. She loved time spent at the beach with her family, especially Whitehouse Beach in Delaware. She and her husband Don enjoyed rides on their Harley. An outgoing lady, Elaine loved taking walks and talking to her neighbors. She enjoyed writing poetry and eating her sweets, especially 5th avenue bars. Elvis was her all time favorite musician and she was lucky enough to see him in concert one time. She loved her grand dogs and they gave her enjoyment in her later years. Elaine truly loved being "Mom" to her 4 boys and "Nannie" to her grandchildren. Family was everything to Elaine. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Donald L., Jr., husband of Christine Connelly, Michael S., husband of Wanda Connelly and Douglas B., husband of Bobbe Connelly, all of Conestoga. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven E. Connelly, survived by his wife, Kim Connelly of Conestoga. She is also, survived by her grandchildren, Shannon, Kristi, Corina, Logan, Kayla, Matthew, Michelle and Ryan and great grandchildren, Casey, Bella, Andrew, Oliver, Molly, Remy, Essme, Talia and Gannen. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael S. Connelly, II. Elaine will be dearly missed by her sister, Ann Lovett of Conestoga and was preceded in death by her brother, William Rittenhouse and sister, Florence Murry. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Elaine's funeral service on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2PM from the Conestoga United Methodist Church, 71 Sandhill Road, Conestoga. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 1PM to 2PM. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made in Elaine's memory to Pennsylvania SPCA, 848 S. Prince Street, Lancaster.
