Wayne S. Ober

Wayne S. Ober, 90 of Manor Township passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy on July 16, 2025, having lived a full life and now he is reunited with his wife Arlene. Wayne was born in Manheim on July 7, 1935, the son of the late George and Mary Smith Ober. His wife, Arlene L. Pontz Ober preceded him in death on May 13, 2023. Wayne worked for over 45 years for Schwalm's Watch Dial. He also enjoyed working for Minder's Nursery for 14 years and CE Pontz for 10 years until he was the age of 75. After he and Arlene met and married, they enjoyed traveling. They traveled to 46 of the 50 states and took several trips overseas. Wayne was an easy-going guy who was pleasant and always had a smile on his face. He was a Phillies, Penn State and Eagles fan. He was a member of the Willow Street UC Church. Wayne will be missed by his daughter, Valerie A., wife of Patrick Reinhart of Millersville; sons, Jeffrey W., husband of Cheryl Ober of Lititz and Douglas W. Ober of Lancaster and his stepchildren, Gary K., husband of Lori Ann Lockard of East Petersburg, Michael G. Lockard of Lancaster and Debra A., wife of Howard Boroughs of Conestoga. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Michael, Aubree, Drew and Ashlee; great grandchildren, Emmett, Julia and Olivia and his half-brother, Robert Fulkrod of Manheim. Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lori A. Lockard; brothers, Phares, George and Jacob and sisters, Jane, Cass, Helen, Leah, Ann, Sarah, Betty and Blanche. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Wayne's funeral service on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11AM with Pastor Liza Garcia officiating from the Willow Street UC Church, 2723 Willow Street Pike N, Willow Street. Friends will be received at the church from 10AM to 11AM. Interment will be held in the Willow Street UC Cemetery. Please omit flowers memorial remembrances may be made in Wayne's memory to Willow Street UCC.
