Daniel Rivera Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Daniel Rivera, 70, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Rosendo Rivera and of the late Julia Vazquez. He was a loving father to his son and daughter, Daniel Rivera (of Lancaster) and Ada Rivera de Colon (of Mountville). He was also the proud grandfather of his four grandchildren, Keisha Rivera, Irili Rivera, Andy Colon and Amanda Colon. Daniel enjoyed working most of his life in the grocery produce and grocery stock line of work, where he made many friends with his outgoing personality. He enjoyed spending time with family, making friends laugh, watching baseball, listening to salsa music, dancing and drinking a good cup of coffee. Daniel had a true love for life and for helping others -- he had a gift of being able to talk to any stranger and make friends everywhere he went. Daniel, who was also known as "Pichon" will be dearly missed by family and friends but will be remembered by his smile and his big heart. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Daniel’s funeral service on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11AM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 317 E. Orange Street, Lancaster. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening, October 21, 2021 from 6 to 8PM and on Friday from 10 to 11AM. Interment will be held in the Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery.
