Luis Anthony Cortes, 53 of Lancaster passed away at home Tuesday morning, April 12, 2022. Born on September 14, 1968, he was the son of the late Louie Cortes and Silvia Silva. Luis graduated from Bushwick High School in New York. He loved working on cars. He was a die hard NY Mets fan and a very happy go lucky guy. Luis was always very energetic and helpful to others. Luis will be missed by his daughter, Davina "Nina" Cortes of Lancaster and sons, Geramiah Luis Irizarry Cortes of Lancaster and Luis Anthony Cortes of New Jersey. He is also survived by grandchildren, Vayda and Valentina. Luis is also survived by his sisters, Yvonne Cortes of Rochester, NY, Yvette Cortes of Tennessee and Christine Montanez Cortes of Rochester and nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Luis' viewing and funeral service on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4 to 8PM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 317 E. Orange Street, Lancaster.
