William Charles "Buckie" McDaniels, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Charles "Buckie" McDaniels, Jr., 100, formerly of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Lebanon Valley Home of the UCC, Annville. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Maxine Drake McDaniels who passed away November 5, 2015, four days short of their 75th wedding anniversary. Buckie was born in Lebanon on July 9, 1916, son of the late William Charles, Sr. and Nancy Lohr McDaniels. Buckie was retired from the Bethlehem Steel Mines Corp, a divison of the Bethleham Steel as a chemical analyst at the West Lebanon Raw Materials Lab. He was a 1934 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon where he had been an active member of the Sunday School and the Lutheran Brotherhood. Buckie was a proud member of the Lebanon Elks Lodge where he recently received a plaque for 75 years of membership and service. He was a member of the Friendship Fire Co, PA Sports Hall of Fame, Bethleham Steel Bowling League and was an avid Penn State Fan. Buckie is survived by his son John Drake, husband of Denise Young McDaniels of Lebanon, grandchildren, Sean Patrick, husband of Emma Haynes McDaniels of Northfield, NJ, Erinn Colleen, wife of Gary Lee Rowe of Highspire, great grandchildren, William Charles and Freya Ann McDaniels, sister, Nancy Mae Souders of Lititz. Buckie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son William Charles McDaniels, III and brothers, Robert, Elmer, Russell and Frank McDaniels. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Buckie's memorial service on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St, Lebanon 17046. Friends will be received Sunday from 1:30 PM to time of service at the church. Lebanon Elks will conduct their service at 2:00 PM prior to the church service. Interment will be made in Kochenderfer's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memory remembrances in Buckie's memory may be made to his church or The Lebanon Valley Home of the UCC, 550 E. Main St., Annville, PA 17003.
