Jewell C. Moyer

Jewell Culbreth Moyer, 95, formerly of Lancaster passed away Wednesday morning, May 28, 2014 at St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia. Born on January 10, 1919, in Colquitt, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester T. and Nannie Pearl Bryan Culbreth. She was married to J. Harold Moyer, who passed away on August 18, 1980. Jewell graduated from Miller County High School in Georgia and worked as a bank teller while living in the South. After moving to Lancaster she worked for RCA in production and JC Penney's in bookkeeper where she retired from. After retirement she worked as a bookkeeper for the Clothes Tree in Millersville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lancaster for over 60 years. She enjoyed Scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, reading novels, bowling, and playing pinochle. Her biggest joy in life was being with her children and grandchildren. Jewell is survived by her children, Gaye H., wife of Ronald P. Denlinger of Conestoga and Tom H., husband of Francine Moyer of Lancaster. Grandchildren that survive are Shari Graff, Christy Irwin, Daihn Moyer, and Jonathan McMillan. Great Grandchildren that survive are Jordan Graff, Amber Fair, Josh Irwin, Zack Plubell, Tyler Plubell, Mara Carol Moyer, Myla Jewell Moyer, and Kelton Moyer, along with her Great Great Grandson Drake Fair. Her sister, Alice Andrews of Colquitt, GA survives and lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Larkin, Lorenzo and Archie Culbreth and sisters, Alma Austin, Bernice Jost, and Edith Alley. Family and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Jewell's Service on Saturday, June 1, 2014 at 11:30 AM from the First Baptist Church, 612 N. Duke St., Lancaster, Pa 17602 with Rev. Richard Hill officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Private Interment will be held in the Conestoga Memorial Park.
