Kathleen L. Brandt

Kathleen L. Brandt, 99, of Landis Homes, formerly of Manor Township passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Friday morning, January 12, 2024. Born in Strasburg on July 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Gerlach Lefever. She was the husband of Roy L. Brandt who preceded her in death on May 14, 2013. Kathleen was a long time member of Living Light Mennonite Church. She was a selfless lady who cared for and gave to everyone, whether family or strangers. Raising her family on a farm in Manor Township with Roy, she taught her children the benefits of their fruits of their labor. Kathleen tended market for many years, selling produce and baked goods at Central Market, Roots and Green Dragon. She enjoyed her time as part of the Friendship Circle with the local ladies cooking and baking. Kathleen was always working, whether it was planting vegetables, shelling beans, digging out dandelion or canning, in order to make a better life for her family. Kathleen will be deeply missed by her children, Melvin L, husband of Gloria Brandt of Lancaster, Marian E., wife of Earl Fahnestock of Manheim, Margaret E., wife of Michael Souders of Elizabethtown, Kenneth E., husband of Joni Brandt of Millersville, Karl L., husband of LuAnn Brandt of Lititz, Kathleen E. Cowher of Millersville, R. Lester "Jake", husband of Sallie Brandt of Conestoga, Elizabeth A., wife of Lance Edwards of Zimbabwe, Africa and Marie K., wife of Benjamin Duke of Millersville. Kathleen is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and her sisters, Gladys, wife of Irvin Sensenig of Leola, Ruth Simpson of Souderton and Grace Houser of Willow Street and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Leon, John, Martin, Jr. and Clair and her sisters, Arlene Eshleman, Edith Hess and Fannie Lefever. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kathleen's funeral service on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00AM from the Living Light Mennonite Church, 2625 Safe Harbor Road, Washington Boro. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in Kathleen's memory to Living Light Mennonite Church.
