Paul A. Sternberg

Paul A Sternberg, 77, of Lancaster, PA passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, October 12th, 2023. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Patricia Quigley Sternberg, on February 15th, 1980 after spending many prior years together being adventurous and traveling the world. Born on March 15th, 1946 to Milton and Tillie Sternberg, Paul spent his childhood in the Camden and Pennsauken New Jersey areas. It was there that he developed his love for sports and also where he met lifelong friends like Michael Goldberg and Jeff Samuels. To say Paul was a dedicated father would be an understatement. He spent countless hours coaching his son, Zachary in various sports like baseball and basketball. He was known to throw batting practice to Zachary well into the night until it seemed like his left arm might fall off. He was also known to travel hours away to Zach's sporting events without batting an eye, and enjoying every moment of it. He loved to be part of his son's life as much as he possibly could. Paul graduated from Pennsauken High School in New Jersey and then from Rutgers University with a BA in History. He dedicated the bulk of his working career to helping people and families in need through his paralegal work with Mid Penn Legal Services. A man as intelligent and charismatic as Paul could have done anything in his career, but what he loved to do most was help others. This love for others also carried into Paul's love for animals as well. Paul was a proud vegetarian and pet owner who loved to cook and share his meals with everyone. Countless nights were spent with Paul in the kitchen, apron on, listening to jazz music, and watching his beloved Philly sports teams. Paul lived with Parkinson's disease for 12 years, but never let it define him. He stayed active as long as he could by walking regularly and taking part in Rock Steady Boxing. Paul was a beloved husband to his wife Patricia, the best father imaginable to his son Zachary and wife Danielle, and the kindest most doting grandfather to his granddaughters Anya, Naomi, and Monroe. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Rosengard, of Marlton, NJ. Paul was a pillar of the community, and the world was certainly a better place because of his presence in it. The family is planning a celebration of life open for everyone who was impacted by Paul's love. More details about this event will be forthcoming.
