Theresa C. Huber

Theresa C. Huber, 78, of Martic Township passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 27, 1945 in Lancaster, she was the eldest child of the late Richard M. and Carol Dean Owen Huber. Theresa graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1963. She furthered her education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1968 with a BS in Education and Hotel Management. Theresa obtained her Masters degree in Man & Environment Relations from Penn State. Theresa began her career as a registered dietician in 1969 with the Hudson River State Hospital in New York. From there, she worked for Adelphi University and Geoge Williams College managing their food service departments. Theresa was an educator who enjoyed teaching her students by being hands on. Most recently, she worked for YTI, Lancaster where she taught Restaurant Management and taught courses in food handling for Servsafe Certifications throughout Pennsylvania. Theresa served as an adjunct professor in Restaurant Management for Penn State. Theresa was a lifelong member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. She worked with the architects to help design the kitchen at the church and lately enjoyed leading history talks at church. She was a 50+ year member of Robert Fulton OES, where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, often wearing red hats with pride. She enjoyed quilting with the Threads & Fibers club. Family was very important to Theresa, she was very dedicated to her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. She was always a big supporter in her nieces and nephews' extracurricular activities. "Aunt" Theresa was always there for them. Theresa was a big sister to many, especially her siblings who survive her, R. Michael, husband of Pam Huber of Parker, Colorado, Raymond M., husband of Peggy Huber of Willow Street and Ralph M., husband of Becky Huber of Pequea, Mary K., wife of Mark Hurst of Sydney, Australia and Sandra B., wife of R. Scott Hoover of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her brother, R. Mitchell Huber. Theresa will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and her sister in law, Avis A. Huber of Quarryville. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Theresa's funeral service on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11AM from the Mt. Nebo UM Church, 673 Martic Heights Drive, Pequea with her sister, Rev. Mary Kathryn Hurst, officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 10AM to 11AM and also on Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2024 from 2PM to 4PM. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in Theresa's memory to Mason Village Hospice, 98 Masonic Drive, Suite 101 Elizabethtown, PA 17022 who provided the care and support necessary for Theresa to come back home.
